Rambo #2, and or #3 knife in #4 ?????

Gill Hibben said Stallone had him make a number of #3 knives for use in #4. Originally he still had his #3 knife and tosses it after the pirate killings, then has to turn around and make a new one hence the fast and crude machete. Okay putting aside the idea of the sheath being his #3 sheath he mods quick to hold the machete (Does not match the #3 sheath) the cut scene he shows on the DVD he is using the #2 knife and even mentions the #2 knife. So he still has it.

He carries the #3 knife at the begining of #3 before he gets word that Trautmans team has been caught. So the making scene would have been earlier or cut out the wheel scene where you can see it on his hip. Either way he does not have his #2 knife in #3 so why would he have it in #4.

For that matter in #3 where in the hell did he get another bow, explosives, etc. from in the cut scene? They were lost in #2. His Class A uniform also makes no sense. Where was that. It makes more sense he was given the weapons for the mission by Kurtwood Smith.

Even if you ignore the knife on his side in #3 at the begining in the wheel fix scene and he gets #3 knife in Pakistan after flying there he likely would have brought it back with him, hence again why have #2 in #4.

I have not seen any discussion of this and I am that desperate to think of anything other than my current circumstances.

Wha??? Was there a question in there???

I kind of wondered that myself and I wrote it.

I guess my question is where did the #2 come from??? Since Hibben made a number of the #3 who made the #2??? He obviously did not want to use a cheap replica.

Why if he went to all the trouble to have Hibben make the #3s, which would make more sense, did he change to the #2 which makes no sense.

I have seen in depth discussions about every aspect of every Rambo knife made down to the tiniest, microscopic, detail.

I'm just surprised this has not been discussed.

I am no expert, but if Stallone got the first 6 FB knives off Lile, would he not have got the same for mission knife in the 2nd film? Maybe the knife is one of his own and he used it in the film.

There is a running audio commentary by Stallone on the RAMBO RELOADED BD about the deleted scene of Rambo throwing the "mission knife" into the fire.

Neither UC or MC, I think it was a prop made by the prop master.

Sly asked Gil to make new ones from D2 steel for the movie. as the previous movie knives were made from 440C stainless wich had the La Grange style. I think Gil made a small handfull of these for Sly, but never made it to the final cut.

Thank you for posting this. I knew I saw this somewhere. Why in the heck would he be carrying just the sheath? Maybe this is just after he blew up the boat????? Maybe he filmed it with both knives.

It's no C scar debate but I find this fascinating.

I like that the #2 knife was good and beat up.

Top knife is modified UC with better paint job and lettering covered up. Bottom is MC unmodified. The finger groove area in front of the hand guard on the UC does not match but check the MC compared to the film one.

I doubt they scratch built one for the film and it does not match a Lile, plus I pray they would never trash a Lile. Are you sure it's not one of the licensed replicas???

The finger area in front of the handguard does not match the UC but seems to match the MC?????????

Here is another shot. Kent Johnson was the Property Master for the movie, and he was seen wearing 2 of these knives at the same time.
