Getting a kick out of this as "Raised By Wolves" is the name of the speakeasy my brother opened up here in San Diego, lauded as the best bar in America for a couple years running.
I may have to encourage him to include some easter egg references/props from this show somewhere in the decor of his place.
Raised by Wolves creator reveals that he has a five-year pan for the HBO Max series and Ridley Scott reveals his reason for helming the first two episodes.
Fantastic so far!, very alien-esque in world feel, very Ridley Scott, powerful and significant female roles, world building is incredible very layered.
MOTHER?
I question how the Mithraic could possibly have defeated the atheists when the latter
have bullet-proof androids who can explode dozens of people by screaming.
That just seems excessive. Otherwise, a pretty good pilot episode. I'm skeptical of Ridley Scott anymore, but so far it's a more thoughtful and compelling treatment of ideas he handled badly in Prometheus.
(I have a feeling that those gigantic sinkholes will turn out to be the burrows of whatever left those enormous skeletons all over the place. Or, possibly, those skeletons were left after whatever lives in those holes ate them.)

The Necromancers are the creation of the Mithraic, not the Atheists. The one we see was reprogrammed by the Atheists in a last ditch effort to "save" their kids / future / beliefs by sending it with the embryos in the small faster ship.
Also, the Mithraic also have androids (such as the medical 'bot that did the surgeries on our versions of Marcus and Sue and the one that Mother took the eyes from). We just don't see as much of them.
