After many years, I finally was able to make a Rachael Tyrell dress from the "owl scene" from Blade Runner. I was able to get great tips from the PropSummit site.
I started with a 1948 Simplicity 2376 Womens Two-Piece Suit pattern, as it was much closer than the old Butterick pattern that most folks start with: The pockets and collar were pretty close which helped a lot.
I found some vinyl "snake" that I have held on to for about 5 years, and finally found fabric that is quite close. While it was not silk, it does have the metallic thread, and also has a square motif (which is used in many other places in the movie).
I was able to wear it at DragonCon 2015, and had my photo taken with Edward Olmos. He was so kind.
