Hi guys. Yep It's me again. Since my war machine build thread has come to a pause (as i was waiting for the releasal of Zabana's HD WM files), I've decided to start my mk3 as well. With the help of sir STEALTH's superb pepping skills and tutorial videos, I've learned now how to correctly pep the pieces as I go on.

For now I have pepped the right leg, the chest, and a new helm. I have the motor for the motorized faceplate and will post videos of how it works in the coming days or so. I've tried multiple helm files and found out (based on my experiences) that the dungbeetle files are the easiest to work with regarding the space inside needed for the motor installation. BTW I am not using any servos, just a plain old dynamo. Hope everything turns out well.

the pepped pieces, 1 layer resin outside. still flimsy. :lol

my helmets. yep i know they're not that good. The helmet on the far right is my try on the sharkbeetle helm which turned out pretty small, same as the helmet on the far left with the ironerd file, which i made in 1 week, turned out to an utterly fail.

the next 2 pics shown is the helm i'm going to test my motorization method on. Swapped the original dungbeetle v1 chin with the samuray short chin, turned out pretty good.

Wow! You're going to have an amazing suit of armor soon enough!

Superstar in the making :)

Re: quovadis' Iron Man mk III attempt

thanks sir stealth. :thumbsup

are you going to replace you shins as well with DF's shin files?

Nah, DF's are looking great but I slimmed Zabana's down and they look good enough to me. :)

Did you build your leg parts and chest piece with cardboard? It looks really solid and kept its shape really well.

Re: quovadis' Iron Man mk III attempt

looking good. I wish I can pep stuff fast. I may build a mk 3, because Ifigured out a lot of stuff regarding articulation, and I think they'll work better w/ the mk 3.

Re: quovadis' Iron Man mk III attempt

AH the good old mark 3 original, looks like you and me are on the same build now my friend, looking very nice by the way, nice work Quovadis!

i see. I might as well wait for its releasal and build 1, then compare it with Zabana's shin file. Nope. Its made from card stock as well. I put skewers inside for plenty of support, that's why it looks so solid. :)

Yes mk3 has a lot of articulation, but for this build i'd rather use rubber for the bendy parts as rubber isn't that rare here.

thanks sir Kagn. same build, but my build will never be the same as yours sir Kagn. :) yours always make me drool. :lol Any news on your new helmet btw?

Looking pretty good, have fun on the new build. ;)

thanks sir Fin. Btw do you still do runs on the mk3 bolts?

Re: quovadis' Iron Man mk III attempt

little update. I needed to lessen the weight of the faceplate for the motor to actually lift it up with ease, and it was a success. Still used FG mats though, but the weight reduction is far greater than i expected. Here are some photos.

did a little mod on the backplate, added more "neck" look to the helmet.

fiberglassed. I'm using chopped fiberglass mat (that's what they call it here).

the helmet is four-pieced,also comes with the hinged jaw. Need to post a video of the motorized helmet soon :)

and finally proportion fit test. I know it's a little big, but i need space inside for the motors so bear with me :(

Re: quovadis' Iron Man mk III attempt

Hi guys. Me and my friend were working for the motorization of the helmet for past months now. Finally, I can show you guys an update video regarding the helmet mechanism. This is only the prototype helmet, and I'm gonna transfer the mechanism to the real helmet i'll be using (seen right beside the prototype in the vid.)

comments greatly appreciated. Next up: WING FLAPS! :lol

Re: quovadis' Iron Man mk III attempt: 05/07/11 Helmet Motorization Video

HI guys! Sorry for taking too long for this update.

Anyway I've transferred the motor for the hinge last night and I'm happy with the results. Again the helmet is Dungbeetle_V2 helmet (thanks to sir dung for the file )

Unfortunately it's been raining here for the past 2 days so i can't do the paintjob this week, but still trying to finish it by friday so i could wear it for a con this weekend though.

Here's the raw clip Motorized Hinge Done!( and no problemo, your browser or speaker doesn't have any problems. It's just the video doesn't have audio as I'm still looking for my vid editor. )

Also working on the LEDs for the eyes. Here's how the setup's gonna be.

Hopefully the LEDs setup will turnout as i plan it to be.

Peace guys. Enjoy.
