So yesterday I finished up my armor for the midnight release of Destiny tomorrow night and thought I'd throw together a gun to go with it. Didn't expect to come out as good as it did as fast as it did (granted I cheated a bit)! I grabbed a picture of a basic hand cannon, simplified it a little more and got to work.
Bonus points if you catch the reference (I'm sure a lot of you will, we're all geeks here)!
Started with drawing it up first obviously, then dapping the two pieces together. I used a spray paint cap as the cylinder.
Slapping on some craft foam for the detailing, goofing off, and laying on the plasti-dip
Skip a few steps and viola! So to explain what I meant by cheating a bit, all that black is just plasti-dip rather than black paint. I liked the matte look to it so I saved a bunch of time by leaving it as is. I'm really happy with how it turned out, especially since it was a one day project. Thanks for checking it out!
