Question for you all. I'm trying to figure out the best way to construct an animal head, like the Worgen in World of Warcraft.

I'm comfortable with the stretching of the fleece as I've done a few muppets. The issue I'm having is how to do the base. For puppets, I use styrofoam. I'm assuming that I could just use thick sheet foam but since this is a wearable, and I have to secure eyeholes, that might not be the best. I'm considering paper mache but that seems rudimentary. Has anyone done this type of mask before and have any advice?
For the armor, I'm going to attempt using Worbla or Wonderflex. I've been reading up on it and it looks pretty cool.
