Question for the staff

Sorry to post this here, but as there no longer seems to be a feedback forum (?), and my private PM to a mod has not been answered, this seems to be the only place. My thread http://www.therpf.com/index.php?showtopic=116456 was moved to the OT forum. Why?

I posted something similar to the prop forum almost exactly one month ago, and although it was deemed to be an interest thread, I was told that if I wanted to reword it as a 'showoff' thread, it could remain in the main prop forum. I still have the PM from the RPF staff member if anyone wants to see it.

Can I please have an explanation on why it was moved, contrary to what I'd already been told? Was there also any particular reason why my PM was not answered, and why I was not told by PM that it was being moved?

The Prop Forum is for showing off, and researching props, and other buildup-type threads. Your thread was about paintings, not a prop. So it goes into the OT forum.

I moved your thread originally. I left a link to it in the main forum, so if would be easy for anyone following it to find it. I should have also sent you a PM about it, and I apologize for not doing so. :$

Interest threads belong in the JY. Sometimes showoff and buildup-type threads naturally evolve into interest threads, and at that time a thread should be started in the JY. Deciding when that transition should take place isn't an exact science, as every thread is different. We do the best that we can to be consistent, and most people are cool about it. We try to keep direct links to the JY out of the Prop Forum.

Sure, thanks for the response. The only reason I was kinda ticked off about it, was A: no PM to let me know, and I accept your apology on that score, I know how things can slip your mind in this job, and B: I received the PM quoted below only one month ago, on the exact same subject, in the prop forum. Note the definitions used if I want to keep it in the prop forum...

If you wish to leave it as a show off, please change the title and text or let me know and I'll move it to the JY.
