Question for MR ROTS Vader helmet owners (modding)

Because of the monetary value I understand if people havn't but I'm very interested if anyone has made any mods to their MR ROTS Vader helmet such as:

Lowering the dome (is it possible with some work?)
Swapping the dome for some other Vader dome (ANH for example)
Bubble lenses
An OT paint scheme
Neck shortening
And anything else really

Thanks for reading and any replies.

Re: Question for MR ROTS Vader helmet owners

Hi ! MR replies the ROTS Vader ,who has bought that helmet, as me, wanted that version ;if you are interest in the OT you need another helmet...the mods that you listed are surely possible...but.. is a good bargain to ruin an original MR ? I know that someone recasted an MR and sell it on Ebay, the cost is really interesting if someone intends to make some changes, but the simmetry of the mask and the mold of the dome ,IMO, are not proper for the OT version.

Re: Question for MR ROTS Vader helmet owners

Hi technoninja - I already own an OT Vader helm (GH ANH), it's a much treasured posession and for me, the definitive Vader incarnation.
However, I would like to have a Vader also that is much more accurate in terms of form symmetry as an interesting "idealised" contrast.

I plan on making some changes though, making a true reveal for a start, and certainly changing the neck length (it makes little sense that length, especially as it's supposed to tuck beneath the armor).
Im quite sure a lense switch would improve it to my tastes and I'm curious about other changes I mentioned in my first post.

Re: Question for MR ROTS Vader helmet owners

The OT masks were not symmetrical... it makes little sense to purchase an MR mask which is an exact recreation of the ROTS mask and then destroy it, as it's a collectors item and not cheap.

There are less expensive masks out there to cut up.

There were certainly no end of modified MR ROTS helmets at Celebration 4. You can find some galleries if you look hard enough, but most of the mods done were paint jobs. Gordon has a good question, why mod something that is already accurate?

I'm well aware that the OT mask is not symmetrical, this is my point, I have one, I'm very happy with it, "warts" n all. However, I'm also interested in a representation of Vader which *is* symmetrical (in structure) -the closest being the ROTS helmet. It makes perfect sense for me to own a helmet which I feel is also a valid incarnation of Vader, I'm not interested in "collectors" value, only it's value to me, and any changes I choose to make will *not* destroy it, but modify it to my tastes, as I am not 100% happy with the ROTS helmet as it stands.

As a foundation I believe the MR ROTS helmet is good for what I want in this particular representation. Any OT helmet I used to get this particular look I want would require so much modding it would be better to scratch build, which frankly after spending the past year working on Fett/Clone/Stormy helmets I don't have time for (well actually my girl friend doesn't which is fair play)

so no one has considered/made any of these changes??? Strange. Surely it's not that much of an out-there idea in a prop modding forum with a big Star Wars fan base? Hey jts, yeh, seen those celebration masks, my favourite is the hoody and sunglasses Vader, can just picture the dark lord jogging/wheezing through the Death Star corridors every morning :D
