Hello everyone,
I started working on a Iron Man helmet, the mark VII. I am using Darkside501st's pepakura file and started on the test helmet to get the fit right. It is almost finished, except for the pieces starting at the jaw going below the ears and back of the helmet. If I put those on I probably cant put it on in one piece, but I want to get a really tight fit. Now I've got two main questions, first, should I just put those last pieces on and hope I can get it on? And second, how much space is there supposed to be for example in front of my face. If I let it just rest on the top of my head there is a lot of space in the front, but if I lift it up a bit, this creates space at the top for electronics but my nose then is quite close to the front. I think that the lifted position is the right one, because this will probably also get this tight squeeze at the cheeks with the faceplate open. Any opinions about how such a helmet should fit? I will add some pictures in a minute, a bit easier to judge I guess.
I'm sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong forum section, but I really want to get started on the real build and posting in Darkside501st's thread hasn't yielded any results yet.
-Edit:

Holding it up.

Scouring pad in the top of the helmet.

Resting on top of head.
