Question about fixing a "Shards of Narsil" blade

Hey guys

I had received a UC Shards from a member here, and unfortunately he did not know the tip of the blade on the hilt was broken off and missing...I can return it with no problem, but I've wanted one of these for a long time..

My question is, do you think it is salvagible??? Can it be ground down to a point and still look good on the display???

I know if I grind down the tip and edge a bit, there will be an obvious piece of the shard missing..

The only way I can see this working is if the whole blade was ground down, then have the mount lowered to line up properly....

any idea's?? Is anyone here capable of doing so?

IMO, You should not alter it any more. it will completly destroy its value :confused

The only other thing that I can think of to do is get another UC Narsil Sword and cut it to fit the display..
Or send it back and get another one when you get a chance.

Unless the seller will buy you another UC Narsil..For the extra cost and work ahead, I would just send it back.

UC will most likely reissue all the hard to find items in the future.

Such a cool prop to let go (if you returned it).

But you're right about the missing piece if you ground out a new tip. You could get one of the Chinese knock-offs and create a new broken hilt.

Yeah.. I saw a guy selling them on ebay, and asked him if he had pics of the actual hilt.. I dont want to purchase it if the blade wont match the rest of the shards... I'm gonna wait for a response first

Even if it does match the display..it will still be a crappy knock-off.
Why settle for broken items, or knock-offs?
There are still plenty of good ones floating around out there.
Just throwing it out there.

I personally would return it and get another one another day.
If I settled for that it would bug me forever but that's just me!!
I mean you have a UC Shards and in this stage of the game that is a task within itself. Don't go for the knock-off. You will not be satisfied!
