Question about displaying Pred Bio Helms

Hi guys, I read through some of the archives and discovered the paper towel holder trick for using as a helmet stand. however, i wonder if this same "technique" could also be applied to display a pred bio helmet simply because the bio helmet is almost shaped more of a face mask rather than covering the entire head. basically, I'm looking for some ideas on how to mount a bio helmet on a helmet stand. will be receiving two helms hopefully next week and just want to have one ready for when they arrive. any help/tips would greatly be appreciated. oh by the wya, i hope i posted this in the correct section. thanks in advance.

I wanted to do that with my green goblin helmet.

what i had to do is get one of the paper towel holders and a piece of sinra just a bit smaller than the inside of the helmet.

I then heated the sintra and conformed it to the inside of the helmet, let it cool then epoxy puttied the sintra to the helmet stand. When it cured, i put a bit of velrco of the sintra and the indside of the helmet and job done.

I plan on displaying my pred bio helmet, once I finish it, by buying one of the paper towel holders on the inside of the mask I'll be putting in a 2 to 3 inch piece of PVC pipe cut at an angle to slip over the top of the paper towel holder. I'll either hot glue the PVC piece or epoxy it in place as I don't ever plan on wearing the helmet.

I've got some biohelmets waiting to be displayed. I was planning on mounting them to the wall as I've seen others do in previous threads. But I'm intrigued by the idea that a paper towel holder helmet stand could be adapted to display a biohelmet.

I am curious to see how your Green Goblin helmet display came out, fettster. Might you be able to post a pic or two? :love

I'd vote for the hot glue over the epoxy. Even though you don't plan on wearing the biohelmet, you might eventually want to display it differently. :)

And then there's always fettster's idea of using Velcro. :thumbsup

I understand that some people have glue small magnets on the inside of the helmet and have matching magnets inside the predator latex mask to hold them in place when wearing them. Maybe similar type of setup could work for a display holder.

I haven't been on the Lair in a long time but there is a thread on displaying bios. Monofilament line, aka fishing line, is tide thru the eye on one side and the other end on the other. The bio is then hung on the wall with the line balancing it like a picture. I will try to find the thread with pics. Many here are also members and can discribe better than me.
