Putting together ideas for a realistic Iron spider Costume

pipe insulation re-enforced with a wire endoskeloton would give you the effect you're going for. Light weight and wouldn't sag unless you bent the wire.

Hey man, you still working on your iron spider? I'm actually trying to do the same thing right now. So far I got the legs sewn up on my dye sub suit. I'm going to finish the costume first and then try to make the Waldoes and brain storm how to attach them. This is my first Spider-Man costume, but I've done my research so I think it will turn out decent.

Nice it's looking good so far, I was struggling with ideas for the Waldoes so it's been on hold currently

I've googled a bunch, this page always pops up. So for a more comprehensive reference for the occasional cosplayers just randomly googling, I'll post pics/info of my sons build. It's pretty basic. Pvc pipe. 4 toy scythe's, cut to fit. Gold paint and some 90lbs magnets. It's still in progress, but ultimately he will have a set of magnets under the suit for easy attachment. I really want to add cylinder hinges inside the pipe for easy storage, but that may be too excessive for something hell wear a handful of times. I want to wrap some Eva foam on the pvc for a mechanical look, but we'll see how it goes.
