Programmer/Electronics help with Nixie Tube Clock project

Hey guys,

This is way out of my league for programming and electronics, I am working on a bunch of other projects at the moment and would love to start this one but the learning curve for Raspberry Pi/ Arduino and other electronics is far from achievable for me currently.

I have a full time job and then working full time on projects so I was hoping to collaborate with someone on a side project.

The idea/project would be to create an alternative Nixie Tube clock not LED or El-wire but stay true to the Nixie Tube aesthetic without spending 80.00 a Nixie Tube.

I was wondering if anyone had time/interest enough to hear me out on what my rough plans were.

I would like to keep this to a somewhat private dialogue at first and then share with others. Since I will no doubt embarrass myself with some of the questions I have.

Thanks,

Tank

FWIW I've seen quite a few real Nixie tubes and sets on that online auction site for far less than that. I was thinking of a similar project, only because the Nixies I happened on are way too large for a Ghostbusters belt gizmo.

I sure can help you out with some pointers and help you with this project if your interested.

You just need to define it a bit.

I'm guessing the nixie tubes were built like - Neon - Cathodes (the numbers) and a anode mesh right?

EDIT:
//Are you going to keep that structure or are you replacing it with LEDs? - Ignore (didn't read carefully)

Give us some more information regarding your project, and I'll help you define the electronics.
