Prince of Persia Costumes *Pic Heavy*

Yea, it does look like some of the "metal" parts could be salvaged. But geez, green pants?

that's look nice but the green pants......
oh and anyone consider to make some replica for the props?
i really like the props from this movie but the price of that real bracelet from Thorn just shocked me.

My thoughts that this can be just embossed leather in floral design.

Unfortunately, this is the only one pic i have left. you know, she only wear that costume for like a mins in the movie when she was praying. i've gone to the moive for like 3 times and im pretty sure that they didnt show the whole pic for her praying costume. i'm trying to find some for you but im not so sure that there will be a hi-res pic, BTW her name is Tamina not Tamira.
Damn, i really like Dastans bracelet!!!

Thank you for posting it. I was really interested in seeing if the corset was a ribbon corset or not. It kinda looks like it might just have piping on it. The best shot of the costume is at the end, I believe.

Sorry about the name confusion...I mixed the name up with the character Tamira from Titus Andronicus...Thespian mistake. lol. Rs and Ns...blah.

yeah i totally forgot about the end of the movie! i'll check it out by tomorrow. i've done some research about the costume, they say that the original costumes were on display in El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood till June 16. Anyone live around there might wanna check it out?:love
here some pics

Was the movie theater exhibit the only one with costumes? It'd be cool if we could get some pictures of some of the other costumes too...

here is a website showing the prayer robe and some others including a hassansin costume.

Prince of Persia: Firsthand Look at the Costumes | Clothes on Film

I am working on a Nizam costume as well so i will update my own thread when I can.
Also I bought a brocade fabric on ebay for my Nizam coat. Its not the same pattern but its similar and is probably the closest I would be able to get to the original. Here is a pic of Nizam's costume at a display.

If you look you will see Nizam's gold brocade coat underneath a larger travelling coat which would be worn when riding out in the desert or riding from city to city.

Oh and post some in progress pics of your costumes. I will do the same if anyone is interested. I may (if my Nizam costume turns out alright) try and make Zolm's (lead hassansin) costume as it looks like a good costume and a challenge to make.

Ok so today I finished stitching my Nizam belt. I decided to use vinyl (faux leather) as it would keep costs down. There is still some work to be done on it, like adding studs and decorating it.

I also cut out my Nizam coat. I enlisted the help of a friend who has experience with making costumes so she kindly offered to help me. This is my first costume project so she will probably be doing most of the work, but of course showing me how to do things and she'll give me little tips here and there.

Hopefully you will like the work we have done so far.

Also I bought the toy dagger of time and two brass rings for the costume.

Pics:

Photo0081 is a pic of the braiding I chose to stitch around the coat.

any updates on your prince of persia costumes?

just so you all know, I am still doing my Nizam costume but after a pretty hectic year I had to put it on hold. I have also changed which Nizam outfit I am doing. I was originally gonna do the Gold coat that he wears towards the climax of the film but I have now decided to go with the 'funeral' outfit.

I am planning on doing both shirts that he wears with his black coat. He wears a royal blue shirt when he goes to see the Hassansins so I thought it'd be cool to do both and see which one I like best.

I am not going to do the large over coat with the hood that he wears during the funeral, I just want to concentrate on the coat and shirt.

will post pics as I progress.

oh and does anyone know if the pattern on Nizam's cuffs and up the front of the coat is a braid trimming of some kind or if its embroidered?

hope you have all had a go at ur prince of persia inspired costumes

Sorry I didn't get these uploaded until now. I had used a friend's phone and just got them from him a couple weeks ago when I finally decided to make this costume. These are all from the Arclight in the Sherman Oaks Galleria, taken back in 2010.

As you can see, the boots here are some kind of combat boot with a bunch of grey/brown cow suede and 5 oz. goatskin straps wrapped/glued/riveted on. These seem to be the boots used throughout most of the movie, but I also spotted two others in the_batdemon's album on page 1 of this thread. One seems to have a flat leather sole, I'd guess those are the hero boots, and the other has a humongous lug sole. Not really sure what those were used for. The combat boots seem like the easiest and most practical option to me. You might also notice in his pictures that the top of the boots have the same conchos as on the right arm straps, and in one shot you can see them folded over and on the inside of the boot is another stylized plate, the back of those conchos. That detail leads me to believe that these things weren't just sculpted and resin cast, I think they're real conchos that can be purchased somewhere, probably with rivet posts. I know that the conchos on Jack Sparrow's baldric have never been found, so there might be no hope of ever finding these either, but there are three different ones in different sizes, which might mean they're commercially available and not specially made by a peasant family in a third world country, which has been the case in the past.

So, is anybody still interested in this costume? Or just have a lot of free time and google skills?
