loose bolts

so far i am a week into this project. in true post apocalypse fashion, i have scavenged all the components. i saw some interesting photos from Oblivion, have been a life long mad max road warrior fan and thought why not get make something that looked like it could belong in any of those genera of films. i found a leather jacket (cheapo mall jacket) in a donate pile, some 3/16 aluminum sheeting and a mil surplus pouches and set to work.
the breast plate i hammered out of aluminum and did not bother to use a pattern just eyeballed it. dremel and grinding wheel used to rough it up a bit. made the bullet strike with ball peen and cut striations with the dremel and with the curvature of a small trailer hitch, rounded it out. thus far i have 3 washes over textured black krylon (great for congealed oil look with a burnt umber wash over it.) for inspiration i looked at WW1 and WW2 body armor to get and idea, along with roman armor.
the canvas and leather shoulder armor is being dyed indigo at the moment.
i am going to make, jeans (modified with pouches) spats, gloves and a helmet of some sort. i have a hobo rucksack coming in the mail. this may not be the last one i make but its the first run.
not going for steam punk. in all honesty wasteland weekend is on my bucket list.
- please disregard my hairy hobbit foot in the photo...im not a hobbit-
