Polyurethane rubber question

Quick question. I'm currently in the process of building my Cap Age of Ultron suit. The front of the suit has some thin rubber detailing on the legs and pockets just flat rectangle shapes. I was wondering if I was to just pour polyurethane flex 60 rubber into something like a plastic lid very thinly would I be to pull it away once cured? Or should I coat it in vasaline or something first? The idea is to crest a flat rubber sheet to cut the shapes from.
