Hell Force Folks!

I really would love to know if you guys happen to anyone in the SF Bay Area who makes Star Wars props. I am a fellow member of the media; I work at new media company Revision 3 [known chiefly for our "Diggnation" podcast], and we are looking for a guest in this department.
The segment would basically be a step by step of how to make a simple, affordable lightsaber. The problem is--I can't seem to find someone to guide me through the process.

Any help you could provide would be intensely appreciated. Thanks so much in advance!
