I'm offering a bounty to anyone who can help me identify this brand of key so I can buy some blanks for my Lost Room group, The Collectors.

It should be silver, 2" - 2.25" long with a flat tip.

Bigger pic here.

Oh I've been all over Google and tried this company plus a number of others. The tough part seems to be the flat tip.

Long ago I used to do some locksmithing and have cut thousands of keys. The key blank appears to be a fairly common Penn P2 blank however a generic blank(usually made by Ilco) will not have the detail on the head the key in the pic has(only an OEM key will have that). The flat tip can easily be cut by the keymaker/locksmith.

You can see what an Ilco blank of the P2 looks like here:

Upon closer inspection of the pics, I noticed that this is a double sided key(it was hard to tell by the fuzzy pics). This may be a special order key made for a business like a chain of motels, etc..

It looks like the head and the shaft are from two different manufacturers and the pieces were glued/soldered together down the middle of the shaft.

Look at the grooves on the head, they don't match up with any grooves on the shaft. Why would a half-round shaft need grooves on the head?

The shaft looks like my Schlage house key (which doesn't have grooves on the head).

Wow! Thanks guys. Is there any chance either of you would take a comission to make this key? If so I can promise my group would want at least 50 of them. (But definitly one for myself for starters.)
