Pirate of the caribbean coins

I was wanting to make a bunch of the cursed aztec gold form pirates of the caribbean, and I was wondering what would be the best and cheapest way to make some of these.

This actually belongs in the PROP section.

If you plan to make then from scratch they would need to be sculpted out of clay (Sculpy, Magic Sculpt, Aves) or wax then molded and cast.
They have a lot of small details and undercuts along the edge.
Molding and casting will probably make them more expensive than just buying the plastic ones.

You can buy them from Disneyland or the Disney Store (there where just some for sale in the Junkyard a few weeks ago) These are plastic.

For metal versions there are the ones put out by Master Replicas that are a few generations out of the original movie molds so the detail is a bit soft.

A very nice fan made one out of metal with the correct chain was also recently for sale in the junkyard.

Don't know much about the other coins but I think I have every 1:1 cursed coin released. Here a comparison pic.

The MRs are metal and run between $10 and $15
The Disney World coins are also metal and cost $5
The Disney Store coins are made of plastic and were really cheap (forget the price though)
The Checkers are metal and came in the $25 game set (so, 32 coins for that price)

IMO, the checkers are the best value. They need repainting but their really detail and end up costing less than $1 each.

The Disney Store coins are nice too. They may be plastic, but weathered up it's impossible to tell without handling them.

I don't care for the Disney World or MR coins too much. They're the most expensive and the least detailed...
