Hello Ladies and Gentlemen... Beware of spoilers!
Like you can see by my avatar, I am a fan of the Assassins Creed saga. When I first played the game, I was very confused about all these futuristic designs within the gameplay, generated by the Animus. The ending was even more surprising. When AC 2 was released, the story began to expand to a much bigger and more extensive adventure. I fell in love with the idea that there were a species Who Came Before us... the mankind. This whole Adam-and-Eve-storyline, the sin with the apple and the exile from the paradise. What makes me the most fun about this story is that there were these artifacts, the Pieces of Eden, and they were used by many legends and heroes / tyrants through our history. Well, enough of my likenings:
I want to build one of these Pieces of Eden. Because there are many of them, each one with an individual design, I will create my own. But I am going to go the AC-2-Apple way.

I will make it out of a hollow satin stainless steel sphere (wow, what a word!) , 10 centimeters in diameter. I am thinking of building a light-up-version, so I choosed a hollow sphere. To prepare the markings and linings which will be dremel out, I used a 10-cm-sphere out of styrofoam:
I lined the primary markings with a pencil and carved it with a little strong touch into the styrofoam:
Then I painted the markings to know which of them needed to cut out completely and which of them will be integrated lines on the surface of the sphere. Sorry for this bad looking pictures. They look like I just painted the sphere by free hand. But they are just to give me an idea for the design on the steel sphere. The red markings are those who will be trimmed out completely (this is where the light from the inside will shine through); the black ones will just be trimmed to make it look more futuristic:
This is it so far. I began working on it yesterday, more updates will come as soon as my ordered steel sphere has arrived.
