Photo of Infinity Gauntlet prop used in Thor movie

I'm not liking the gigantic reality gem. And the extra small gem on the thumb. I always thought the Gauntlet was actually fabric or leather.

Nor am I too happy to hear that the Infinity Gauntlet will be important to a Thor movie.
 
I forgot all about that prop. Interesting seeing it now that I'm more familiar with the latest trailers and all... Compared to the other props and costume designs seen in the trailer, I'm not sure I think that matches the look of the movie very well. My kneejerk is that it reminds me of that crappy prop from the Witchblade tv series that I was so unimpressed with. It won't ruin the movie for me by any stretch but it just doesn't strike me as aesthetically consistent. That's just my opinion of course.

I think I prefer the new all-metal version. Makes it feel like an ancient artifact. THe added Kirby design elements also help unify it with the rest of the Thor art direction.

This prop does not appear at all in the Thor movie. Did they delete the scenes or is it actually a prop for The Avengers? Weird...
 
It does appear in the movie, it is during the scene when the frost giants go into the weapons vault.

I always figured that it was metal. It was shiny and when I hear gauntlet I do think of metal.
 
I'll have to watch that part of the movie more carefully. I believed the gauntlet would play an important role in the plot, not just a cameo. But that's fine, the movie is still awesome!
 
I thought Thor is released on Friday! Why are people talking about it so soon?! ARGH!
