Well, I'm almost current on all of my prop jobs and that's gonna leave a window to get to my long neglected, follow-up run of Phantasm Spheres going. This will please a couple guys who have been on the reserve list for a looong time. But, that's for another thread.
This is probably something for myself, but I was thinking it might be cool to do a machined/all metal cutaway of a sphere; where the blade, bit, saw, exhaust port tube, that sort of thing would be visible.
The trick here is to make it 'other-worldly' without the trite wires and bashed electronics that some would be tempted to use.
I'm thinking a very clean, simply geared, all metal set-up with some sort of fluid core for faux power...similar to the yellow ooze we see the tall man and dwarfs spill.
Thoughts? Again, this isn't a sale or even reserve thread; just gabbin'
Here's a photo from the last run of solid spheres. Yep, solid metal. It's tricky machining a sphere and each one of these started out as a 4 pound chunk of metal.
