I'm trying to pick back up on this project after shelving it for too long, again.

It's all sanding and filling so that's not much fun. I'm focussing on the helmet which still needs a lot of work. With all the filler I've put on it, the helmet has become pretty heavy so I will definitely be fiberglass molding it. The mask is still pretty light but it will get molded too. Going to keep it to as few layers of fibreglass as possible and will build the visable edge of the helmet up with carboard so it looks thick, but that's all still a ways off.

This is so cool.
As already stated, by the photos, one would find it hard to believe this started out as cardboard.
Now no more shelving it.
Want to ask too, when you say you applied resin to it, are you talking straight resin, as in no fiberglass?

Yep, just resin. A few coats to the outside, and a couple to the inside top of the helmet. When you glue carboard into corners and curves, it holds it's shape pretty well and strong.
