Nice find. Waay out of my price range. Very detailed photos..... I think I just found some great reference pics :lol

And I love how they used a real helmet as a base. :thumbsup

That bid estimate is a bit higher than I would have guessed it might be but you can never tell with these things. It's all up to whoever is bidding... Dunno for sure if it's changed hands again but best of luck to the seller. Wish I could buy it for the original price...

Since it's up for public auction though, I don't see a reason to continue not talking about it.

I snagged that helmet years ago for a friend and was the one that identified it as the helmet used on the Disney Adventures cover... thus I dubbed it the "DA helmet." It's an original to be sure and was part of the big Rocketeer prop and costume display Disney had back in 1991.

It's quite a nice piece and definitely production used. It does have the softer features since it's got a vac-formed shell and it's a bit fatter too for the same reason.

I'll have to dig up some photos of it. You should see it sitting next to the hero helmet I used to own... it's really interesting to see how the stunt and the prototype compared to the hero.
