My goodness is that all ? That's a real shame, I thought it would be more as only 30 were modified from the original smgs most were sold off in large quantitie I have 2.
I have a couple more bits including an aim point sight from empire.

If you think they are actual original production made magazines, they would be worth a LOT more, IF and that's a big IF they had a rock solid provenance. Hundreds of mags have been modified for use in "blasters" since then.... how could you tell an original production made magazine?

I see what you mean..since joining this group and just reading some of the threads about the E11,
Of course there's no way of really knowing ..but I work in the industry and was given these bits by the armourers who worked on the film who help modify the the sterlings in the first place ..I also worked there, so I know they are 100% authentic but there is no stamp or prop number piece of paper from a prop company to sell it with.

Ok, please excuse my ignorance ..so papers ..for example I have the prop I sell it to a prop company say £10 he then gives you a cert with a number and then sells it for £300 ??
What sort it papers would I need ..I have lots of props from all the movies I worked on ..I don't have any papers ..apart from call sheets and credits

For example ..expendables I give sly his stunt/prop pistol I know it's his because iveissued it but if I wanted to sell it because I don't have good papers it's worthless ..

Your advice on where to get papers would be greatly appreciated

post some pictures of the parts in question....it´d be a good idea to know what we are discussing about!?

Merlin, exactly that is the problem.

You say they are real, but without proof you/anyone can buy those mags by a dozen, and easily chop them in his basement.

But without proof ...... how shall any buyer know its the real deal? I mean, i could go this evening in my shop, cut some mags, and say they are real screenused, i have been given them years ago from a well known person that won't be named. People would need to trust my word only to pay top dollars?

Hi ..just to point out ..I don't believe there are from the movies ..thery are from the movie. A new hope and empire.

Like I said I work in the industry , I've worked on some massive features ..from period ( les Mes ) to future like the new dread feature.

I've worked on over 70 projects on set and pre- production.
I saw this sight / group l thought it was very informative and a good source for collectors and fans.
I don't really blame you for being cynical
Lol

I'm not cynical.

Even if i believe you, who guarantees that the person you got them from is honest?
He might be the one who cut the ones for the movie, but how should be proven he doesn't also cuts another on a regular basis to make some money?

Trust noone when it comes to money or egos. ;)

Lol yes you have a good point, the armourer who gave them to me still works for the company and I know him extremely well, but as you said from somebody who doesn't know him. You can't trust him.
It's a very grey area, I've sold stuff I've been on set with then the middle man gives it a number of some sort and a cert ..on my say so that I've worked on the movie then sells it for a lotof money ..I just wanted to about doing that with cutting the middle man out.
It seems like a whole Mine field ..I have so many props .i wanted to have a clear out and I'm having a mid like crisis lol and I thought I'd get rid of some stuff ..towards a new bike lol

Without good documents and papers proving their provenance and connection to SW, they only worth the price of a regular magazine, which as being said above, is between $10-40. Sorry

I also put together a Han blaster using all original parts .that was in our spare parts box at work , it took about 2 weeks inbtween work ..god only knows what it would be worth if I had correct documents
I d love to post some pics ..and to hear your opinions

Attachment didn't work for me. If you have proof that you worked in the prop
Department, and your named in credits that would go a long way. You can apply for a COA with the right evidence. The problem is there's no way for you to prove it was used onscreen unless it's a very unique item. Lucasfilm archives have the majority of the props as well.
