The Dr. Spock thing has been happening as long as Star Track has been around.
The Walkie Talkies in the 70s were much worse; huge and blue with morse code on the inside of the lid, IIRC.
I recognize this but can't remember it. I think it IS a garage door opener as Robn1 already said.

I told them of the error, told them that Wah Chang designed the original prop and was very talented, and gave them a link to wiki of Kirk holding a REAL comm.
Maybe if you guys do similar they will change the picture.
