First project I tackled for a looong time…Leia‘s Hoth communicator

I own one of Roy‘s fantastic replicas, which I used for reference BUT built with a real Unimax switch and Stanley tape measure I had for years. Metal parts provided by Roy (thanks again buddy)

Now I have to find a suitable paint and finish the build. Want to add some magnets to the back as featured on Lowland Prop‘s replica

I remember my dad used to have that same very heavy metal tape measure. Of course I had no idea what it was until years after I joined th RPF.

Totally lost now, unfortunately.
