I originally started this saber design and build back a few years ago during a recovery from an injury. I had a LOT of time on my hands so I deep dived head first into everything I could learn about this beautiful prop.

But I’ve been itching to revisit it for a while now. Specifically to add and improve some details. I wanted to add real screws as well as include additional designs to the two side electric charge inputs on the Graflex. I also wanted redesign the whole inside (from top to bottom) so I could included some weights.. just a little extra oomph!
Now it weights about 1 pound in total which may not sound like much but she’s definitely got it where it counts!
First I had to draw it up in CAD but again this was originally done almost two years ago now..
Fast forward to present time.. here I redesigned the insides to house all these bolts and screws for the extra weight..
Here you can see the added details of the real screws and the writing on the electrical heads. For the screws it may “look” like a simple substitution but I had to rework the inside CAD file for the screws to grab tight. Overall it was basic enough though..
And now for the final version of this beautiful prop replica I was extremely grateful to bring to life. Shoutout to the Star Wars fandom within the RPF as a whole because without it our dreams would never become a reality..
About a week ago the wife and I made a little visit up to Sonoma and along the way stopped in at Lucasfilm to see the fountain..
And lastly we book ended our trip with one more stop… a bucket list experience of not only visiting and touring Rancho Obi-Wan, but also to be able to gift one of these sabers to Steve Sansweet himself..

C&D Prop Replica Recreations..
Oh ya here’s small sample of all the trail and error parts along the way..
