I am doing a run of 2+ foot long nostromo models. The kits will be molded in blue plastic, with all details, instructions, and many, many, many, many parts. twice as big as the old Halcyon model. if anyone has interest, contact me. next run will be 10...

You might want to put this in the Junkyard after you have enough posts. Since this was your very first and only post..... I don't know......

I am ALL FOR your custom work though, that is a beautiful ship. You just might want to get access to the Junkyard before you post this....

Just trying to help! :thumbsup

because its better than white, actually it tints very easily in the resin
It's your choice of course but if that's the case I think a lot of modellers would prefer it to be black rather than blue if you're going to colour the resin. Of course it doesn't matter so much as it's a static display model but in terms of pieces that get handled such as replica guns etc. I definitely prefer black resin, in fact I've refrained from buying stuff that's done in white resin before.

There are those that claim pigmenting resin is messy. My answer to that would be that it's as messy as you make it. I cast in black resin all the time and if I'm careful with it it's a very neat process. I should add that I always wear gloves and work in an area that isn't affected if I do spill some of course.

But if it is going to be completely painted, what does it matter?

with black it will be more difficult to see adhesive points and any slight mistakes during assembly and blue avoids this while still retaining a dark color for the grey hues of paint to cover over better than simple white plastic

The Nostromo is one of my favorite designs. I would be interested, but i definitely would want to see pics first.

If I can judge accurately from the molds, with antennas and stuff, engine flaps, around 28 inches maybe

I will keep Post some sample pics early next weekend. Interest is huge in this project, and My goal is to provide a large, high quality professional kit....

Definitely interested, would be great if you also offered a studio scale Narcissus :thumbsup
Cheers

The price will be dependent on quality, also the landing struts parts are brass, which is not real expensive, but those I need to cut as well. The kit has around 200 parts , and over twice the size of Halcyon kit, not vinyl either...
