Noob - First pep - Dark Specter Batman

Broken Hourglas

Ok, my first actual pepped piece. I'm not even close to having one that I would waste resin etc on, I just wanted to see how the overall process was to complete and gauge my skill level.

The process was straightforward and made easier by the tutorials and resources here, thank you all. My skill level on the other hand, well, let's just hope it improves with the next few pieces. Plus, now that I have a rough copy, I can determine how to adjust the scale so it might even come close to fittin over my giant noggin.

Also, thanks to EyeOfSauron, I found a Dark Specter Batman Helmet that he prepped in an old thread and decided to try my hand. I actually went on a bit of a downloading spree and had to go back and search for the file again so that I could give appropriate credit. Any issues with the finished product are mine alone...

Definitely some rough spots...

Did you use scribber tool? Looks like you need scribber tool.
Nicely build.
I am a bt worried how you will see thru the mask

Kaotik - I may work up a full suit, but it would probably be a custom hybrid rather than a direct reproduction.

IMIM2 - I'm not familiar with Scribber. As for seeing out, if I do a full wearable suit I was considering a pinhole camera and lcd screen inside the helm. I also have been playing around with Arduino and there are several components that I think would lend themselves to some of these builds easily.

This is my 25 years old scribber tool.
Basically looks like a dull nail, with a pen-like holder.
You can make it yourself. For me, I couldn't find it anywhere anymore.
It helps to make the fold easier and smoother.

I just saw the pdo file of the mask, it'll be cool if you separate the faceplate, make it swivel with the ear as the anchor. You may add chin trap to secure the body (just like a helmet)

It'll be an ambitious project of you do electronics like that. :thumbsup

Doh - I actually googled fora few minutes trying to find where I could download this scribber tool you mentioned...Since then I have been watching/reading several more tutorials on folding and some detail work on the pep preparation and will track down down a scribber tool of some kind.

Also, I had actually considered removing the ear pucks entirely on the finished product, however I like the idea of it spinning up on the ears. That would make it much easier to get on and off. I'll be re-scaling and printing out tomorrow, once I get more towards completion I'll take a look at different design modifications.
