If you weren't following the CES, you missed some amazing stuff!!! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=STlwqTcRjUw

So anyone here already on the OLED bandwagon?

I don't know if anyone remembers my thread about my broken 600hz Plasma that I LOVED vs the LED UHD "4k" 60hz that I HATED and HAD to take back?

Now I'm looking OLED and torn between the 2016 LG B6 and C6 curved models...

It seems as though curved TVs may have been a fad... Because LG isn't making a curved 2017 model and neither are most of the other big names.

I've read and researched till I'm blue in the face so now I ask you guys! What are your opinions on the subject on what's better for various applications (gaming etc) bang vs buck etc.

What say you RPFers?

I have a 2012 era high-end Panasonic plasma, with which I do not intend to part for some time, so...no, no opinion on OLEDs at the moment. Back when I was looking, they were an outrageously expensive new technology.

If you have the cash OLED is certainly the way to go.

I'm with Laspector, I think the curved screen is a gimmick. If there is some magical benefit, I have to imagine, it would only work well at the focal point.

What is the point of a curved tv?

Only one reason: $$$$$$

No one on the RPF has an opinion on TV's?

Maybe the whole forum just has me on ignore...

LOL?

Some are good, some are garbage and some are somewhere in between ;)
A lot of them come with crap features like "motion plus"/"motionflow"

Also,
BIG SECRET: brand does not matter, they are mostly made in the same factories anyway

I have 65" LG 4K OLED and it's hands down the best TV I've ever owned. My previous screen was a Pioneer Elite 60" KURO plasma which was the King back in it's day, but the OLED blows it out of the water. Seriously. :cool

One of my buddys spent about 5 grand on one of the curved OLEDs and that thing is like looking into a portal or window it is so effing awesome.

Forgot the brand but Francis Ford Coppola endorses it
