Exactly! When I see the original Robocop, it's clunky to a degree that makes you think "room for gears, processors, cables, etc". This looks like a GI Joe Advanced Action Suit.

Wasnt there an article that mentioned that the suit had an evolution in the script, maybe this is one of the in-between stages...

It's not drokking Robocop either. :lol Look, Robocop's just your basic Dredd ripoff, it's nothing holy or untouchable, but this is waaayy too streamlined. Nobody expected something this sleek and body-armour-ish. It'd be great if it was for a Tiger and Bunny live-action or something. :lol Won't really matter though - trust me, the board will be AWASH in peps of this in six month's time.

Even if there is an evolution of armor it seems kinda silly and sadly i bet it still doesn't look like Robo in the end.

Indeed the costume design is terrible.
Robocop worked because it had ROBOTIC elements. This one here looks just like a man in a suit. It looks like he could easily undress and still be a normal person, the original Robocop IMO did not give that impression.
And regarding "we´re not in the 80ies anymore", there are design principles that are universal, in reality and in film. If you want to evoke an emotion with new design you have to take something that is already very well known and build a new design around it so that people can relate to it. Where´s the pistons, where´s the humanoid yet non-human body parts?
But maybe the new Robocop will be about something else than the loss of humanity?

Well things got silly when we saw ED209, totally off TBH, way over designed and not a patch on the ED we know and love.
With Robo/Murphy, they have sank even lower now, comparisions with reject Batman suits and dodgy Ironman suits....yeah i can see that, i just see Japanese Evangelion or MGS for some reason.
Doesnt even look Robotic at all, as Michael said, where are the pistons etc that give him that Robo look and feel.

We tend to jump the gun around here (me included). I remember the "HEATH LEDGER AS JOKER, WTH?" posts and the hate for the new Spiderman Costume which is now loved by a lot of the nay sayers.
This absolutely nailed my feelings on it. I would also hope/hoped the final suit would at LEAST be silver.
But I will try my best to reserve judgment.
