congrats on your 1st build!!!!!

Now on to the critiques and praises......can you tell a little bit about what your intentions on the project are?

Is it merely to build something, or is it to wear, etc....

I myself going through the same process as you as a 1st timer for everything cannot critique alot aside from perhaps I would have spent more time on the bondo /sanding process.

I look forward to more images with your progress on the rest of your armor, the pepping looks fantastic.

cheers

intentions are pretty much for something to do, i would love to use it for conventions when it gets finished, I am starting to get bored using my Army of Two: Elliott Salem. originally i started just wanting to make the helmet to use as a display, and well as so many other things they turn out into something so much more.

i know i really need to work on my sanding and bondo, prolly shouldnt have starting with Ironman as my first ever project but i've never been one to not just go for it. I'm thinking i'll have my friend Airbrush in some damage / flight streaks to take away from the imperfections, we'll see still have a long way to go! thanks!

Well, for a first build it´s kind of okay ;) But I love the idea of covering up the imperfections by doing a battle damaged version !!!

You should go at those areas with imperfections and that are not totally symmetrical or straight with a triangular file or a rasp, so that you not only have airbrushing, but also a texture and real damage. And you don´t necessarily need an airbrush but could use the drybrushing technique.

Keep the work up !

You've got the right idea, a little bit of damage works great. It hides imperfections and if you put a little silver around the edges, it looks more realistic and seems like there's really metal under the paint. People do it all the time with Master Chief armor, so much more believable. ^___^
Great work so far, looks like a dungbeetle helmet, right?

first pic is COPS second is Ghostbusters Third is Squidbillies lol
what im surprised is no one comment on the Royal Corinthian Gaurd helm in the back or the IronMan Posters lol

Great job on your first build!

And beautiful huskies you have too! I'm trying to talk the soon to be fiancee into getting one for us :)

ZOMG! How many game systems do you have?! I see a PS3, A Wii with about 5 Wii motes, and an Xbox 360 with a few controllers! DANG!

Oh, nice helmet too. XD

yeah you be correct. lol i have a Wii fit pad to for the wife, xmas and bdays were good to me haha.

i do need some help though, ive searched for a bit now and i dotn know if i am just missing it or what but i need a good way to light the eyes. i have the ARC reactor and Hand Repulsors but i just can figure the eyes.

I believe there are several threads that hit on the lit eyes. Look into TMP's thread and a few of the other IM threads, I believe there are different ways (either LED, EL, blahblahblah). I don't recall which ones I'm afraid but there were several discussions on it.

cheers

If you cannot find it on here there is a post about lit eyes on siwdat.com.

i saw the EL one and the LED light bar, but i cant find the light bar to do it.. all of them that i can find are like 20 led's long, oh well i will keep looking, i have plenty of time
