I wonder if you couldn't get a real Sterling grip and trigger- that would simplify the whole thing.

That is exactly my plan, I already have all the parts required to do so. I'll be posting a build thread in the near future.

I got one from apex fairly cheap (much better than 30GBP )

The reason for the trip being different seems to be the trigger assembly and it's required battery or whatever is in the grip is roughly 30% wider than a real sterling. The outer shape looks dead on, but it's the inner space that's the killer.

You'd wind up replacing the whole trigger assembly which would leave a hole in the body of 3/16" or so on either side i'm guessing. There'd be no real clear way of filling the gap - or holding in the real trigger assembly from what I can tell. Too bad, because now that i have the grip, i'd really like to use it

And FWIW, even if you remove the batter, it doesn't fit over the trigger assembly on the airsoft. The opening in the grip would need to be maybe 1/8" wider on each side. The alternative would be removing the area of the airsoft trigger assembly that interferes (a decent amount).

I excited to see the Kyair E-11! The DL-44 doesnt look too bad, a few mods and you can get looking pretty good

Based just on how their DL44 looks, I seriously doubt they'll be accurate enough for RPF standards, but still a decent base to start from. I already have the Sterling airsoft and all the other pieces I need to convert it, but it would be nice to get a working, shortened mag so I don't have to cut one down. Maybe they'll sell those separately.
