Its been quite a bit since I've started a thread on the ol rpf......time to remedy that.
I made this for comikaze our here in la. Ive been a fan of dc and the scarecrow forever, It was time i suited up as everyone's favorite crazy psychiatrist. I built this over the course of about 2-3 weeks in the midst of the other commissions I had.
I started with the mask. and this general reference. The problem with the new design is there is no character key for him so he literally changes everytime to turn the page. I went off of the scarecrow villians month cover of the dark knight. seen here.

I made an eva foam skull to attach the burlap to, I felt it crucial to maintain the mouth, frown, and cheek sections of the mask. I wanted to show the emotion though the mask itself and have my face extend that.
I tried to get the stitching pattern as close as i could with the burlap and limited reference. I wound up here.

then went on to cutting out the mouth and adding more details.

I was pretty happy at this point, having figured out the tail on the head (still kinda bummed they took away his hat, that thing was always so damn cool) It was time to adjust the color, again since there is no character key I went off of the dark knight issue 10-13 color seen here
and after I airbrushed the burlap.

Shoes: I had an old pair of brown ankle height oxford boots from my hipster days, those got sacrificed to the costume gods. Scarecrow has long pointed boots wrapped in bandages. I make two toe extensions out of eva foam and glued them onto the shoes. Then i wrapped the shoes in duckcloth.

Due to my fervor I failed to document the rest of the costume build. I found some pants the worked from forever 21 and unhemmed the bottom to be more tattered and to add length. The shirt was made by patterning out a shirt that fit well and adding length to the waist. I was super happy with how it came out....Now on to the fun pics. I had a friend who does photography (mark edwards photography) do a shoot with me at the con. Here are the final ones. (harley is my wife, that is also her first suit she sewed herself)

hope you guys enjoy! It was a ton of fun, Now on to
flash Thompson venom and mania!!
