Need ideas/suggestions for most wanted soft costume parts.

Yeah, so I have a couple months to kill before truly gainful employment, so I'm looking to pick up some commission work to keep me afloat.

So I'm open to suggestions. I'm pretty sure TDK Joker pants are high on the list, and I'm working my connections to find fabric for them presently. What else do people want/need that I might be able to accommodate? Keep in mind I'm looking to do soft parts only here. Sewing folks!

My background: I'm a professional costume designer now, but up until this academic year, I have been keeping employed as a cutter/draper (pattern-maker, drafter) with a specialty in men's tailoring for the last several years and been sewing since I was 8 years old. Examples of my technical work can be found on my website at http://www.chrismueller.net/construction.htm and http://www.chrismueller.net/projects.htm
Feel free to browse.

So give me some suggestions. If it's something that more than one person would like, that would facilitate using one pattern (sizes not an issue) prices stay reasonable. I'm am also open to special projects as well, but keep in mind that research and development will figure into the price.

I have been looking for a nice "trooping" Vader suit that breathes well, has a great finish and doesnt cost a lot. LOL, I know thats a lot to ask, but you put the question out there.

Sadly, you're out of luck on that one. The labor for either a cheap vader suit or an expensive one is about the same. It's the materials that get you. In order to be breathable, you have to have real leather backed with the 100% cotton batting (which costs about 3 times as much as the polyester).

In the same vein as the Babylon 5 uniform, an accurate officer's uniform from the new series of Battlestar Galactica would be cool. :cool

Han Solo's Hoth coat for Empire Strikes Back?

Help me make a better Clone Wars Obi-Wan tunic set?:love

I actually have been thinking about doing this whole costume. After buying the armor for the 1st series version, I started thinking the new version would be more fun to wear. That and an especially attractive friend of mine is putting together and Ashoka for next year's DC.

The BSG dress tunic is actually not a bad idea. I don't know what kind of market there would be for a Babylon 5, but BSG would definitely have one. Although the best thing about both of these is they're both pretty much staple fabrics. That is too say, easy to track down solid colors.

So I liked your idea so much, I went out and found some cheap, close in appearance fabric for a prototype. Look out for updates.

UFO-Sent you a PM about the Babylon 5 Tunic
