Need advice on dying a visor (for soldier 76)

I used a clear face shield and red idye poly dye to make the lens for my soldier 76 visor.
The color came out fine, but it's now blurry to look through. Tried polishing it with plastic polish but it did not really improve it.

Any ideas on what I did wrong, how i could fix it.....or where i can get some pre tinted red plastic?

I was able to get a reflective red tint on my NCR ranger by using silver window tint behind red transparency sheets. It was not as sturdy as I liked, but worked quite well.
The visibility is good, but I'd avoid low-light areas.

An alternative would be silver tint on red lexan/acrylic bent to your shape.
