I happened upon this prop replica at ToysRUs the other day, and seeing as how it shares my namesake, it had to pick it up. I was really damn impressed with this prop for $20, its very thick sturdy resin and the paint detail is amazing for a mass market product.

The bands are brushed elastic, id need someone to help me out with reference if these should be leather or not, but its not too shabby!

wow, thats pretty nice for $20

I soo wish they had these in stores when I was growing up.. I actually had to buy those cheap hocks and drill holes in them and weather them up

This doesn't seem to me like it should be at a kid's toy store. It even says on it "this is not a toy."

This is from the new movie right?

Yeah it's from the film mold.

Leather straps were not used.

I bought my black elastic straps and snaps for my frightstuff part 3 at Joan Fabrics. Same styled straps and snaps are used on the remake mask.

You need to replace those, prime and repaint the mask to make it movie accurate.

It's a little ticker than it should be. I plan on sanding mine down a little on the inside. Can't beat that price. ToysRUs is the only known place so far to get it.

so the snaps are fully unsnappable snaps? the ones on the storebought mask are permanent, lke this just use one half of the snap.

whats with those extra snaps on the bottom cheeks?

those extra snaps are for the other straps to connect when wearing it as a goalie mask in a game... The 2 straps alone wouldn't keep that mask on during a game of hockey

It's a fantastic mask for the price - I really wish these were available in the UK branches of TRU. Even in the US these are rare at TRU - most don't seem to stock it, and apparently those that do are starting to take them off the shelves due to customer complaints about them being unsuitable in a kids toy shop.

It would look ace with a repaint, added cheek snaps and replaced straps.

In fact, if anyone manages to snag any extras, I'd love one if you can ship to Scotland - would pay the store price plus P&P.... :cool

Yeah, expensive shipping in the US, and unavailable outside the US - unless you want to pay the inflated eBay prices which tend to be around $150 :eek

the TRU i picked mine up at had about 7 others, so they come in quite a case.

I picked one up last week at my Toys-R-Us. I couldn't resist it for only $20 bucks. It is pretty nice. They had like 30 of them there.

Sweet

I would be in for two if anyone can pick a couple up. I can prepay of course.

Yeah, if you want this delivered through the website they almost charge you double for each mask to ship. :angry:thumbsdown

Honestly, if I was in the US I would just pay that and have done. It's about £30 in total, which is a great price for this.

What p's me off is an obvious slack of vision about the demand for product - this could have been made available internationally, advertised and sold in conjunction with the new film. They would have made a bomb. Even non-prop collectors would have picked them up on a whim and fancy, having just seen the film.

What we need is a good GLOBAL company to pick up some licenses and mass produce, at reasonable cost, to serve the worldwide demand and put a dart in the balloon of the ebay scalpers who revel in the lack of supply which this lack of vision brings. Even MR didn't achieve that.

I'm going to go to my Toys R Us today to see if they have any, are they just sitting by the other Jason toys?

the ones i saw were under the McFarlane stuff, like Heroes and Spawn figures, they didnt actually have any Jason figures.
