NCIS cap and jacket help needed

Does anybody happen to know the specific manufacturers/models of the field jacket and cap as seen in NCIS? I've already searched on the web and didn't come up with anything solid...the replica jackets and caps for sale on eBay are close, but all are inaccurate to a degree. If the actual base jacket/cap can be found, I'm sure any embroidery shop could add the NCIS, and fairly good replicas of the embroidered badge for the jacket are available.

I doubt that the base caps/jackets are production-made, that would be an awful lot of trouble for items readily manufactured. I've considerreing asking Doug Reilly, NCIS's graphic designer, who has posted helpful bits on the 'Caf-Pow' cup threads, but since this concerns wardrobe, I'm not sure if this would be something he has any info on.

Thanks in advance for any info!

I researched this some time ago and I'll have to see if I still have the links to some close candidates. The problem with the jacket is that it's clearly a raid jacket but nearly all raid jackets on the market are made from a shiny nylon but the NCIS jackets don't appear to shiny nylon but some sort of fabric with little to no shine.

The ball cap is tough too, you have to find something with an "oreo" bill with a velcro adjustment tab in the back to be canon and I think the tab in the back is "oreoed" too.

One other thing, the lettering on both the caps and the jackets do not appear to be embroidered but are some kind of iron on or vinyl lettering.

Thanks for the info. If you come across the links you mentioned, please post 'em. I found a couple useful NCISwear-related links if anybody's interested:

• View topic - "NCIS" Leroy Gibbs Jacket(s)

Plus, I see what you mean about the NCIS lettering appearing to be vinyl letteing...not sure exactly what process would be used for that, but evidently the 'real' NCIS hats are embroidered and have the reflective trim on the brim and the backstrap:

I believe the thread your first link leads to is for actual NCIS gear, not what is used on the show. That's how I read it anyways... Well, it looks like it's mixed between the two...

Thanks for the links, Riceball. (BTW, a few of those links are '404 - not found', so I'm not quite sure what NCIS items they originally pointed to.)

Since I initially posted, I've had the cap made and bought a raid jacket and attached an NCIS patch and created transfers for the back flap. I think everything turned out pretty close - I'll try to post pics soon, going to SW Celebration now - but since I have a few weeks left until the con where I'm wearing this stuff to takes place, I may re-do the jacket with the vinyl lettering shown in one of your links.

Try "Hidden Agenda" jackets in the search engine...should pop up a few dealers for the non-shiny version of the coat they wear. They make this coat in shiny, non-shiny, even denim...

I think the Jacket is the 5.11 raid jacket 5.11 Tactical Response RAID Jacket plus FREE SHIPPING. 5.11 Raid jackets are always in stock. The 5.11 tactical Response jacket.

The link for the hat requires 12 unit purchase minimum. It can also can be bought on the CBS web site for $18 NCIS Special Agents Hat | NCIS Hat

I am wondering on the NCIS badge patch on the front left breast pocket area and the NCIS Federal Agent flap on the back. I've been looking for them for a couple days and have gotten nothing. I assume they are made for the show... What would it take to get some made? If there is enough interest we could do a run, but I don't know any vendors for patches...

Buddy of mine is a HUGE NCIS fan and am I wanting to know...did anyone ever track down AN EXACT copy of the cap used on the tv series. With all the little details the tv version has? If so could they please post the info here. Thanks again.
