My Wolverine- 80s brown/orange suit for Emerald City Comicon 14

Hey hey. Not sure who all was there from Emerald City Comicon this year, but it was a blast! Good times as always.

I debuted my 80s brown/orange Wolvie suit. The direction is comic style inspired by a more realistic approach ala the Captain America or Dark Knight vibe UD Replicas suits. I started with a one piece moto suit and boots as the base. Added a couple panels, ribbing, wings for the boots, painted/weathered, etc and this is what I ended up with.

Cowl- Reevzfx
Claws- Darkside501st
Gloves- modded/painted Darth Vader ANH gloves
Claw plugs- mine. I cast them in resin
Belt- modded/painted urethane clone trooper belt (ran short on time, had to get clever for the belt)

If you want info on photos, who took them, etc- pm me.

I met a few X friends out and about too.

Enjoy! Thanks for looking,

I noticed your pics on io9 and they were brilliant. really love your take on the costume. just really really screams wolverine and well executed. what motorcycle jacket did you use for your costume?

Hey! It was great meeting you at the con (I was Spider-Man on Saturday and I was with Black Cat, talked to you shortly before the costume contest and was gushing over your claws & gloves solution haha)

Absolutely loved your costume, I'm really leaning toward doing an X-Man next year.

Dude that is awesome! Custom Wolvies are always amazing to see :thumbsup
hey you should make one of your pics in black&white to see how an X-Force suit will look!

Thanks all! Much appreciated.
IronJoe right on! Nice to meet you guys too. Your Spidey and the Black Cat were awesome! Nice work. Keep me posted if you start working on an X-character.

I really like the realistic approach to the classic suit! I wish the movie guys had done this for Future Past instead of the generic black!
Love it!! :thumbsup

deadeyes702 thanks man. I used a fabric paint from a craft store. I did some tests on the lower pant cuff of the suit to make sure it would actually adhere. And it did! It did wear underneath the belt from moving around, rubbing, but touched it up and back to the proper color.

Right on, love what you did here brother.

This is an impressive and cohesive piece you have here. You did a great job unifying all of the separate pieces. Looks great. Keep it up

So I found the moto suit I think you used. Very good for the price, I'm thinking of doing the same.

MOD EDIT: Please do not post ebay links, thanks.
