so my wife is catching up on some doctor who episodes and upon seeing "school reunion" (she was pretty far behind) she turns to me and says "i want a tin dog...you're going to make one...right"...no real point to this thread other than to brag that my wife just insisted i start making a K-9

Well it doesn't get much better than that.:cool

Did she specificly ask for a "tin dog" or for a "K-9"? Cuz you could always slip her a Mickey! :D

Sorry, had to...:redface :lol

Have fun building :)

"Me too. I have tried since we got married and she won't let me build a full size Tardis to set in the back yard. No matter how hard I try she always says no."

she said when we get a house i can build that tardis mame cabinet that popped up a few months ago...i am a lucky man

And my wife LOVES my WIP TARDIS, has her own sonic screwdriver, let me buy the Tardis playset...and wants a K-9, a personal custom Console and her own David Tennant...two of those I do not mind at all...

My wife's been asking me to make a full size Tardis in the garden for a few months now.

It's at the end of my must-do list right now, but I think I will eventually get on with it.

My gal already had one of those remote controlled K-9s when I met her. :) I've been collecting sci-fi stuff all my life, and she's got stuff I never even new existed. :)

She wants me to start working with her on some of the sonic screwdrivers. I haven't even seen the show yet. :lol

my wife wants me to make a tardis or dalek for our dog

as a sort of dog house garten shed thing hope too get the time soon to do it

but what about this a over sized K-9 as a dog house
hmm could be funny

My fiance thinks that this entire endeavor is stupid. She thinks props are juvenile, my collection is 'unmanly', and wishes that I would drop the whole thing in favor of... well, I don't know what. It's seriously affecting our relationship. If I knew that she had such strong feelings, I would never have gotten engaged to her.

As it is, I sneak around hiding things. It damn well pisses me off to obfuscate about something I truly enjoy.

I'm in the same boat. All my stuff is in storage right now. When I suggested that when I am finally able to build my home theater, I was going to build a T.A.R.D.I.S. facade doorway, I was told that I was not. Beh...

Drop her now. If you have to hide props from her, you're going to have to hide a lot more when you're married. Save yourself the trouble and get rid of her if you two are going to have such issues with minor things pre-marriage.

I don't know, but shouldn't there be a "Wife Swap" kinda thing between RPF'ers in trouble?

The main problem would be when the second week came with HER rules....

Just considering.

And Switchblade Slinger....

You're in for big trouble if you keep your present course of action. There are MANY more women out there, and there ARE amongst them some who are as much into movie props as we are, and who may currently be engaged to a guy who wears a numbered gaudy-colored shirt with some other guy's name on it and aspires nothing more than being a lifetime subscriber to one of those sports-only channels....
