My very first build?

Hi all!

I'm new here and was hoping a few of you would be able to give me a recommendation or two for a complete beginner? I thought maybe a mask or a simple sword/shield might be a good place to start but there are so many different options and so much information to take in I'm hoping someone might have been in the same place before me and could help out? I've used pepakura to make a few models already (and when I say a few I mean 2), Spyro the dragon and Crash Bandicoot, as you can see below, so I feel fairly confident with that at least but I've not used Bondo or resin and fibreglass before so that's something I will need to read up more on. Anyway if someone would be able to give me some advice that would be great! and once I've decided on something to make I'll make sure to keep track of my progress, takes lots of pictures and document my experience for everyone to see! Also I'm not worried about making something to scale at the moment, it's literally just to practice and build up some new skills so something I can easily make a few of would be ideal. thanks :)

Well by the looks of your models of Crash an Spyro, I would say pick a helmet and go to it. My first one was a Predator mask. Very tough for a first timer. I used white glue and glue sticks which were very messy and time consuming. Lots of clamping parts together to dry so it took a while. It didn't help that I didn't read any of the tips and tricks in the stickies before I started. Still, I think it turned out pretty well and it got me addicted to pepping. I just started the resin/fiberglass/bondo process with multiple projects that I built over the winter. It is finally getting warm enough to work out in the garage again. I can't stress this enough, READ THE STICKIES here and over at the405th.com.

I second the helmet idea.... If you had zero experience, that could be daunting, but you've already got a good idea of what you're doing. A helmet's a nice project size too, challenging without requiring hundreds of bucks and months to finish.

Thanks guys :) I've had a look at some predator helmets and they look easy enough to pep I'm just worried about the resin/finbreglass/bondo bits!
I have done a bit of hunting around the forums and came across the Tobi/Obito war mask from Naruto (a user by the name sauer33 posted the files so thank you!) which to me looks like the easiest thing to make (and I don't know why I didn't think of it before seeing as I've been on a Naruto anime marathon the past few days ) but it'll give me a chance to make a few and practice and learn how to do the resin stuff etc.

I've got it ready to print off so will update once I've made a little bit of progress! thanks for the advice though! :)

So I've finally got around to actually making this mask, next steps are going to be learning about resin etc. should be fun! hopefully it wont take me as long to post another update!

The eyes were a bit frustrating to do but apart from that it was a really easy pep build!
