I noticed a lot of changes it needed just from the pics I took yesterday - so lastnight he got a lot of resculpting... still not perfect, but much better IMO. Thoughts?

You should put a pic WITHOUT photo-manipulation to have some real feedback!;)

Re: My TDK Joker 1:1 bust

Yeah show the sculpt alone too. I was just about to commision someone to do this, you may have saved me ALOT of troubles!

Did you sculpt the hair in? It'd be great to have none so real hair could be added but now I'm just being picky.. lol

Wow, Looks really good. I especially like the work you did on the hair. The nose looks a little bit too wide maybe?

Re: My TDK Joker 1:1 bust

I never noticed the nose until now, but after staring at it, it looks like an Asian nose. Otherwise, this is a very good start base.

Re: My TDK Joker 1:1 bust

Looks fantastic! I agree that the nose is perhaps a little too bulbous, but all-in-all it's a great start.

yeah, you guys are right about the nose... that'll be my next "fix"

I've gotten a lot of suggestions that I should make him bald so real hair could be added - although I agree this would be better in theory, my only concern is that I would not be able to find "correct" hair to add. Is that a silly concern? Do you guys think that would be easier than I do?

From the pic of Heath with no white makeup it also looks like you need to make the scar on his lower lip a bit more defined.

Busts always look nice with real hair - but I think this particular hair would be extremely difficult to pull off with punched hair, the way it's all greasy and clumpy and multi-colored. I think sculpted hair would be much easier in that respect.

Re: My TDK Joker 1:1 bust

I think he was balding - all the latest pics I found for reference showed him with a pretty high hairline...

Re: My TDK Joker 1:1 bust

I'm pretty sure Ledger was balding.

I think this likeness is better suited with sculpted hair. I know that irk's a lot of collectors but if you're doing this in resin I think you'd have a hell of a time finding a wig for it. If this is going to be a silicone piece I'd reconsider and do it bald since you could punch in the hair line.

Re: My TDK Joker 1:1 bust

Yikes - I'm getting a lot of conflicting opinions on sculpting/not sculpting hair... here are my pros of each option:

SCULPTED HAIR:
- Dont have to worry about finding a matching wig
- Less work for anyone who I sell to
- DONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT FINDING A MATCHING WIG, LOL

BALD:
- I wanted real clothes on him. The clothes need to go beneath the hair in the back - cant do that if its sculpted.
- I can always sculpt hair onto a casting if I cant find a wig
- uh, I guess thats all of them, ha ha

With that in mind, which gets more votes?

(I will have better pics up shortly)

Maybe pull the eye section a bit outward and space them a bit more. Thats what i see. This will turn out FANTASTIC!!

Its already great!

Re: My TDK Joker 1:1 bust

Thanks guys for the compliments and feedback! I really need to get better pics - the perspective and lighting on the one I posted really distorts how it actually looks - I'm just not much of a photog... I didnt want too much light because it washed out the details - but the light I did use was little too dim...
