Here's my Son's Basestar model *just* completed. It's a Cylon ship that was captured by the Colonial fleet & converted for Colonial use!

He's 12, and I'm so proud of him I can't tell ya!

Nice job! I got a big kick out of the altered plaque...

One bit of constructive criticism - wouldn't a stargazing dome be more effective on the upper section, so that the rest of the ship doesn't block the view?

Well I guess I will go and get mine out of the display case and start the rework.......
My Son's reply (speak up, boy!!!):

what are you planing on doing with it? (out of curiosity)
oh, a suggestion: if you plan on a total repaint, don't wait for the paint to dry while adding a new color.

I concur- it adds depth to the finish, in my experience.:thumbsup

I would like to do a paint scheme similar to the one I did on my Galactica. This Basestar is full of detail as the Galactica is and I think that staining the model would make it pop. I will post pics if I think that it is "post worthy".

Cool. We'd like to see your Galactica as well!

Looks way better than anything I made when I was twelve! Great work, and I love the redesigned touches.
