The only things I can see wrong are the color of the armor - the gray looks way too light, the size of the armor - it makes you look even smaller in the suit. That's it. Other than those things, it is a fantastic looking suit. I even think if you darkened the gray, it would make you pop much less, thereby making it less obvious that your shoulders do not fill the suit.

You look the same size as Hayden - pre airbrushed shoulders. Is that a MR helmet?

I'd try to pad the chest a little. Looks good, I'm one of the minority that loves ROTS Vader.

This is the real color of the armor in the right light ( silver metallic )

Are you sure about the size of the armor ?

Trust me...I' m absolutely not slim...:lol

And yes..is an MR helmet..

Looks like the chest box could be positioned a bit higher. Maybe if you pulled the cape more toward the front, covering more of the shoulders it wouldn't make the shoulders stand out so much...

Well, I can say that I had to add some padding under my chest too, so it's nothing against your physique.

All I did was take an inch thick piece of foam and cut it to fit. To give it more definition I actually stapled (yes I said stapled) it around the edges to give it a more rounded look and then added some muscle definition. It actually made a world of difference. It not only helped the chest armor look better, but kept the chestbox from sagging and sitting in place better.

I'm jealous of the helmet btw.

Yeah a little chest padding, and raise that chestbox, and you're there!

It looks great! :)

Yuo're right !! About the chest, I believe that there is a different styles in the movie respect to the promotional pics; in this pic i think that all the suit is attached to the upper armor, while in the movie the box is positioned more down

Not bad... but trust me on this as I'm a ROTS Vader and started on the low end and worked my way up.... get a real leather suit... it makes a HUGE difference in appearance!!! but looking good other then that.

Looks pretty good! :) Thanks for the comparison pic. The armor does look a bit oversized for some reason. It may just be the way your standing, but it looks like the shoulders are swallowing you :) The color of the leather does look a bit off too... it may be the green background... it also looks like you need to go darker for the grey on the shoulder/collar armor. Also it looks like the chest box may need to be a little higher (just under the collar piece).

It may not hurt to add some shine or clean up the armor a bit... although the pics. that are shown are probably after vader when through an extensive photoshop process. I have some pics. HERE of ROTS vader before he was photo shopped if you wanna take a look :) If you need more pics. LMK and I can post um.

Love your costume though. Wish I could get a set of Vader armor myself :thumbsup

That is not a ROTS Vader in your link - the chest box and armor chain are wrong.

Techno - Overall I think your ROTS Vader is looking really nice. Yes, you should do something to stop the armor from popping out. I don't think the look of the faux leather suit warrants replacing it - however, a ventilated leather one may be a lot more comfortable to wear!

The gloves - its great the way you have folded them at the wrist to get the right ROTS look. I think though that the fellow who made those gloves makes a set with a more accurate stitch pattern. However, he will be leaving the Star Wars costume business in a few months so I would snap up those more accurate ROTS gloves fast!

And if you want to make your own home-made ROTS chain, try this:

I think it looks really great. The only thing bothering me at first glance was how big the chest/shoulders look. I think if you either get a smaller set or pad your shoulders and chest even more. But be sure you taper it down towards the stomach so it just doesn' drop off. Don't give yourself a gut. You'll see what i mean when you start padding it.

Thanks to all for the recommends :) In effect if I try to throw more down the armor, it appears more hold;I have to oppose the heavy of the cape !!! Huzz I have read the tutorial for the chain and it inspired me to made myself this..:)

And I used also your method to fix the cape at the shoulder :thumbsup

That's Awesome Techno!!:thumbsup

I'm delighted that someone found my idea to be helpful! I do think you have a great ROTS Vader there!!

The fan made fiberglass RotS armor that's out there is all a little oversized (at least all the ones I've seen). They're closer to Prowse sized armor for some reason. The RotS armor should actually be scaled a little smaller.

I keep saying this but I guess some purists don't like it. But it seems to me that the Rubies Supreme Darth Vader costume's chest armor is more accurate than anyone else's in terms of size and general proportions. With a repaint it can be made very nice overall. Its only real issue is the thin material, and that could be thickened up by the skilled folks here.
