My Nostromo Crew Jackets (Pic Heavy)

I watched the tutorial. Help me understand. Did you sew the sleeve laces on by hand? Sid you cut the sleeves open first, or just sew on top?

I sew it onto the sleeve by hand, and i don't cut the sleeve at all, its just on top

Did you need to use the RIT All-Purpose Dye or the RIT Synthetic Fiber Dye? I have been having the hardest time determining the fabric composition of this jacket and can't find any resources anywhere to tell me what I should use.

My understanding is they are made from Ventile Cotton, which is very tightly woven and has a coating, so id recommend giving them a very through wash before you start (as hot as you can safely go)

Excellent work, especially the G-Suit lacings!

I picked up a jacket 3 years ago after a decade long search for my size in OD green.
Have the excellent patches from Indy and purchased a fantastic set of Dallas lacings from a fellow on the RPF 4 years ago.

I have a few questions if you will:
  • what did you use for the the stencil as I'm not sure that the 10 year old iron-on I have is still good?
  • The pink you choose looks right; do you have a color/ part number/ size for that ribbing?
  • The proportions of RIT dye you used were mixed w/ how much water?
This is a photo someone posted years ago of a plum purple jacket he found.

Any info would be appreciated,
Mike
