My Master Replicas TOS P2 with a Rod P1

TOS Phaser

Greetings and Felicitations.

This is my first post here on the RPF.

As you may be able to tell from my Avitar drawing - I am a TMOST Phaser kind of guy.

I posted the attached photos years ago on another forum because I did not like the P1 body shape. (A few of the members of that "board" got it.)

One of the great things that happened in the middle 2000s IMO was when the GJ P2 became available for inspection and soon thereafter - Master Replicas, Master Models, Art Asylum/Diamond Select Toys and even the Star Trek Experience Squirt Gun started producing P2s that were so similar (shape and dimensions) you could swap the P1s with almost no trouble at all.

I have been experiencing "life" the last 6 years and had to sell most of my collection.

I was very lucky to communicate with Richard (during that dark period) and he told me about the Wand Company Remote! If not for those emails with Richard - I would have missed out on the P1 and P2 that I had been looking for since 1966. (Thank you Richard for letting me know!)

Don't get me wrong - I loved my Master Replicas TOS P2 and I managed to keep it. (I sold the P1 along with most of the rest of my collection.)

However I did not like the P1 body shape. IMO it just did not look like the TMOST / Finny P1

And as I said - I only had to put a small piece of foam in the P2 sight window to keep the P1 in place. Visible in the next photo to the left of the P1 nozzle.

I posted these photos of my MR-Rod P2/P1 as the second batch of in process pics.

I will be posting more photos in the near future especially now that I may be able to purchase some metal parts for my remaining AA/DS "toys" as well as my Aluminum Brad Nelson P2 copy and my "Nicksday" P2 and P1. (Sadly I had to sell both of them.) So I will not be able to post more photos of either. Perhaps the gentlemen who purchased them from me are members of this board and they can post more photos of each. (I no longer have their names or addresses though I may be able to find their user names on the other forum.)

The Wand Company has done some great stuff with the Star Trek Props but thier phaser design is flawed, there is no way to replace the battery once it stops accepting a charge. Thats why I though they should release a P1 only replica that fits the older P2's, and design it so the battery can be replaced. I'm sure they would sell a ton of P1's, with its potential of a lower price point.

On the other hand the communicator is perfect in every way, I can't wait to get my Tricorder! hoping my P2 still works at that point.

Has there been any word on progress with the Tricorder?
