My Mad Max collection....The Toecutters Polaroids....using real polaroids.

So heres my Mad Max car and replica prop collection. As there isnt a lot of stuff out there from the series so had to make some of it myself but who doesnt love doing that?

The showpiece for me is the original Max Rob steering wheel. These are very rare and this one is the same colour as the dark ones and ive never seen another one with the correct photo in the wheel insert. Scavanged some dash parts from an old xc wreck and combined with the MM2 fuel gauge and warning light, will make a unique display piece.

Hope all the Mad Max fans get a kick out of it.

Neat. You even have the Nightriders car. That's rarely seen.

Where did you get the steering wheel and photo?

Re: My Mad Max car and replica prop collection

Nice collection! There's not a lot out there for us Mad Max fans, so you've done a great job getting a piece from here, and a piece from there. (Sorry, couldn't help myself)

I remember seeing a conversion kit for the 1:18 Diecast Mad Max (Road Warrior version) car available at Monsters In Motion, which allowed you to convert the 1:18 car over to a new & pristine Mad Max car. I wish I had bought that then because I haven't been able to find that kit again.

ABSOLUTELY GREAT!
The night I first saw MM at the theater, I had to drive home in our black 72 SS Camaro! What a RUSH!!
I've been rebuilding a couple of the Hot Wheels Falcons in my spare time, but still have a way to go!
Nice job on your display!

Re: My Mad Max car and replica prop collection

Thanks very much guys.
terryr, i got the wheel and gauge from Ebay Australia.
The photo i made up myself, the steering wheel insert pic of Jessie and Sprog is taken from another scene in the film when the toecutter finds the
polariods left behind by Max.

If anyone can give the two polaroid shot a clean up it would be much appreciated, ive got some leftover Blade Runner polariods that need
these two pictures put inside them. Cheers.

Great collection, I live in hope that someone like Cinemaquette will make the Last V8.

Re: My Mad Max car and replica prop collection

Much appreciated Fred.

Ive been putting this project off for ages now but going to start it at least.
Its a conversion kit for the Goose bike. It came with all the conversion bits and the three bikes that once dismantled make up the parts of the original.
Lots of work involved for a small replica but ive never seen any replica of this, only the real ones.
No instructions either but all the bits are quality and if it looks anything like the only picture of a finished one, it should be worth it.

NICE!! The MM bikes never get enough recognition!

I spent a good bit of the weekend making the feral boy's boomerang.
1st test flight is tomorrow, before final polish and blood.:confused

Re: My Mad Max car and replica prop collection

Great job, always loved that unique prop. Are you going to have a crack at the glove.?
The actor who played the feral kid is a member at the madmaxmovies.com forum and is a regular poster, im sure you could get it signed if you wanted.

Re: My Mad Max car and replica prop collection

Great collection. I should duck up the local model shop and get one of the Interceptor 1:18, they look fantastic!!

Thanks Tim!
Hadn't though about the glove, I'll take a look at it tonight. I joined the MMM.com this morning, and will be reading for days, thanks for the tip!!
It'd be fantastic to get it autographed by emile Minty!:cool

Odd, until a about a week ago, I didn't realize these were available in the US. Found it in a 10 pack, but intially only the blue one individually. I've since found a yellow one to convert. Which car did you get the blower assembly from?

The '42 Jeep gives you the side pipes and the blower! Both need some major trimming, as well as the hole in the hood.
I'd attached the pipes to the side of the car base instead of below it, as it raises the rear off the tires, but it leaves a gap in the back.
Still fitting when I find the time!
Good luck,
Jeff
