Some time ago i posted a advertisement on Marktplaats.nl (the dutch ebay) that i was looking for a Graflex 3-cell flashgun. I didn't really think someone would answer it . Even if someone would answer i doubted their price would be reasonable. Just look on ebay more than $100 is asked sometimes.

But someone did answer me and said i could come and get it for about $50. Which was a real bargain for a real Graflex flashgun. So i stepped in the car and drove towards my 8th lightsaber.

Some pics of my Graflex.

Had an issue of metal fatigue on the Graflex clamp. Used a small screw to keep the clamp in place.

that looks good, i cant wait to see what you do with it. ive always wanted to make a graflex ANH saber, but i can never find one thats cheep enough. :unsure

Realistically, I wouldn't pay more than $100 for a 3 cell Graflex these days. Problem is, the people listing them for sale on Ebay lately, all seem to think they are worth $200.

Gentlemen...stop complaining :lol

I stocked up on Graflex´s back the days, when they used to go for 200 - 500 USD, dep. on condition. That was the time before GR, Biskit, Larbel, Parks etc.

Think I invested about 5 K for my flashes, incl. s&h to germany as well as customs fees.
So $100 is a steal for a graflex IMHO ;)

It was a busy weekend for me so i couldn't really upload anything. So here is a update of my progress.

I made some grips out of a plastic t-track strip i got at the local hobby store. I had to cut of about 4 mm because the grips were pretty high. The grips are by a mm to small from the original ones. I added a base coat of black paint then added a coat of silver and i finished it with a coat of matte black.
I used some sandpaper to make it look like weathering on the grips .

Cut a ring and flattened a piece so it became a D-ring and i also added a piece of sheet metal to hold the ring in place.

I added a slip clamp (is it called like that:confused?) and shoved it over the graflex bottom to hold the d-ring in place.

Finally i added the grips and reassembled the graflex.

I know it isn't accurate but i wanted to give my own twist to this piece and i really like the way it turned out:love.

Hi Sjors,

Looking very impressive! Excellent job on the grips! Here's how I attached the D-Ring onto the bottom :

I used a little drop of superglue inside the rivet hole to avoid the cut part from making additional 'sound effects' :lol

that is a very nice d-ring indeed.
Hey Chaim,
I want to start a tpm owk build. Do you have an idea how to do the pommel?
The rest will be hardware improvised i guess.

I can tell you from experience that fastening that d-ring with a screw/nut is a PAIN!!!! Not doing that again.... no sir!

Heej everyone,
It has been a long time since my last update. Real life had been calling (a lot) lately.
Small update on my graflex. I removed the d-ring + assembly and i made myself a new bubble strip with some little rubbery studs i found at my local DIY store.
