My cardboard Boba Fett Helmet

Here's my cardboard Boba Fett Helmet. I wore it out on Halloween but as you can see I haven't finished the rest of the costume yet, maybe I'll have it completed by next year. I used the WOF templates. I tried to get the paint job close but I didn't try to make it perfect

Wow, that's better then just about any store bought helmet I have seen. You should apply that painting talent to a Fiberglass or kit helmet and you would have one sweet bucket.

Thanks I appreciate the comments. To answer your questions cayman this was my second attempt at this helmet. The first one I used cardstock and tried to resin it. It didn't turn out very well and was trashed. This one has not been resin yet but I do plan on it. I didn't end up using the WOF for the dome (the hardest part imho) I used a construction hard hat instead cut in half front to back so I could widen it filled the gap with bondo and sanded it smooth. as for the paint job I appreciate the compliment CureMode but I feel it is lacking though I still had a blast wearing it on halloween. I'll probably make another helmet when I get the time hopefully making a bettter one by using what I've learned.

It looks great! :thumbsup
I used Alan's templates for my custom Mando, also, but I used Sintra and plastic pvc sheets to build it, and a girl's bike helmet as the dome base....

Thanks Ghostsoldier, I think my next build will be with PVC sheets. When I was out with my helmet for Halloween it was very cloudy and looked like it would rain any minute. Cardboard and rain is not a good combination. I forgot to add that the visor was cut from a old face shield similar to this one

Then the outside was tinted using car window tinting film. The RF stalk is made from a nylon cuting board, then painted chrome. Nylon cutting boards are a great material to work with very sturdy easy to cut and take paint well. They can also be dyed for a more permant color.

The thicker "Handicapped Parking" signs from Home Depot or Lowes are the best one's to use....the thinner "For Sale", etc., types found at WallyWorld are OK for the mandible curves, but the thick ones are good for everything else. :thumbsup

I used a green welding helmet lense for my T-visor, as well....

I made a cheap Fett helmet for a school project. Just built the pepakura model and painted it. Im wearing it in my avatar
